The New Scottsdale Transportation Director
The City of Scottsdale has put the safety and overall quality of its roadways into a new transportation director’s hands.
With city leaders’ blessing, Paul Basha assumed the Scottsdale Transportation Director’s post on June 10. Basha brings with him almost 40 years of experience in transportation logistics. Body shop technicians all over our community are surly pleased to have such a versatile expert in transportation engineering overseeing the city’s infrastructure.
Basha’s previous experiences have spanned professional engineering consulting including transportation planning and traffic operation project oversight across Arizona, including the East Valley. He’s a consultant with seals of approval from EPS Group, Morrison Maierle and Olsson Associates, as well as the civic endorsements of Scottsdale, Tempe, Paradise Valley, Carefree, Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Surprise, Maricopa, and Kayenta citizens and officials. He’s also collaborated with the Maricopa County and Arizona Departments of Transportation.
He was previously in the employ of the City of Scottsdale from 1984 to 2000.
The safer Scottsdale’s roads, the safer a body shop’s friends and family will be. A body shop technician understands as well as anybody that few things guarantee safety quite like an experienced hand. Basha once more brings with him a Michigan State University Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Michigan Technological University Bachelor’s Degree. The states of Arizona, Washington, and Nevada have certified him as a professional engineer and he holds a Transportation Professional Certification Board verification as a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
Additionally, he’s previously instructed both graduate and undergraduate students at Arizona State University in Tempe since 1996, presently teaching Introduction to Transportation Engineering.
